Perennial produced and distributes the Emmy Award winning PBS series Gardens of the World with Audrey Hepburn, recognized as the most accomplished and successful garden series ever produced, shown by the world’s premiere broadcasters, and today Amazon.com's top rated DVD title in the gardens genre. The hard-cover companion book was published by Macmillan; the music soundtrack CD is by Conifer Records, London/BMG. Also for PBS, Perennial produced the award-winning primetime special In Search of Angels, narrated by Debra Winger, filmed in Los Angeles, New York, Paris, Rome, Vatican City and Vienna, with music soundtrack CD by Windham Hill Records. For the Scripps Networks, Perennial initiated HGTV’s highest rated, continuing program: live coverage of Pasadena's Tournament of Roses Parade.

Perennial’s Special Event production and design work encompasses multi-media national corporate events, trade shows, product introductions, and high-profile Los Angeles cultural events, such as for the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Kodak Theatre, and the new Disney Hall.

Janis Blackschleger, is an Emmy and Peabody award winning producer, Perennial’s President, Founder, and Executive Producer.
She began her television career in Programming at KQED in San Francisco, where she advanced to senior management for the Television Division, encompassing two television channels, FM-Radio, News & Public Affairs, and Culture & Performing Arts.
Her award winning Producer credits include: the Peabody Award-winning musical production of El Teatro Campesino's Corridos! Tales of Passion and Revolution, written and directed by Luis Valdez; Sam Shepard's Superstitions; Pavarotti in Concert; and San Francisco Opera’s Wagner's Ring, among others. Her Technical Achievement Emmy was for the first ever trimulcast: FM stereo radio broadcasts with two simultaneous, different synchronous views, each on VHF and UHF television channels. She was Executive in Charge of Production or Executive Producer for numerous specials and series, such as New York’s Master Chefs (Lutèce, La Côte Basque, The Four Seasons, et al), and the annual Opera in the Park and Sing-It-Yourself-Messiah live telecasts. She was Unit Manager for several seasons of Grand Prix Tennis telecasts from Europe and America for PBS.
